On Thursday 25 May, the Green Party in Northern Ireland published their manifesto for the general election which you can read in full here.  Below are some comments in the manifesto on subjects covered on the engaGE17 website.

Abortion

“The Green Party will:

Decriminalise abortion. The UK is not meeting its minimum human rights requirements for people across the UK in this regard, and especially in Northern Ireland.” (p12)

“The Green Party will:

Introduce a UK-wide strategy to tackle violence against women, including domestic and sexual violence and human trafficking.” (p12)

“The Green Party will:

Introduce marriage equality to Northern Ireland.” (p12)

Religious Liberty and Equality

The Green Party will:

Immediately ratify and implement the Istanbul Convention on Women’s Rights.” (p12)
